C & O Trattoria

Beautiful Eats
Venice Beach, California

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie you are at C & O Trattoria. Offering an atmosphere that almost exceeds the flavor of the food (which is a feat in itself), this Ristorante Italiano transports its guests back to the Old Country with its charm and romantic appeal. Whether you choose to dine under the stars and twinkling Edison lights, or in the cozy indoor dining area, this restaurant is a must for everyone.

That includes the GLUTEN FREE and the carb connoisseurs alike! A favorite dish of mine is the Penne Sausage made with gluten-free penne noodles. This includes a huge portion of "Sweet Italian Sausage and Roasted Red Peppers in a Smoked Mozzarella Cream Sauce." That's straight from the menu and I could not have said it better.

For those of you without a gluten intolerance, this next bites for you. Every time your table's plate begins to run low, the fresh, warm garlic bread knots are replenished. This restaurant would be worth the trip even if it was just for these glorious knots of bread! You may have noticed by now that I ordered a gluten-free entry, but clearly partook of the garlic, gluten goodness... Let's just say these bread knots are my weakness. And they'll be yours too.

However, your night does not simply end with an Italian food coma! At 8:00 p.m. each evening, the glasses are topped off, lyrics are passed around and "That's Amore" is broadcasted. Waiters and waitresses come to each table to clink their glasses with yours and bellow out the words to C & O's anthem. I guarantee that by the time you leave, you'll feel like you're in love.

"When you dance down the street with a cloud at your feet, you're in love-When you walk in a dream but you know you're not dreaming, Signor-e-Scuza me, but you see, back in old Nap-o-li, That's Amore."

And that's C & O Trattoria!
